Aesthetic Mixture

Updated: Sep 15, 2020

As society continues to improve its technology, society must also continue to follow the trends in technology. Never having used anything like photoshop before, I was quickly overwhelmed with the amount of technology available. Once learning more about photoshop, I believe that it is something that I will be using for the rest of my career.

When creating my first collage on photoshop, I began by brainstorming aesthetic ideas. I had a couple good ideas in mind but found it quite challenging to find free images that fit my different aesthetic ideas. After a lengthy debate, I came to my final decision to do Gucci. I chose this aesthetic because I believe that Gucci has a wide variety of prints, patterns, and elements.

After choosing Gucci as my aesthetic for my first collage , I began finding images to use. I decided to base my collage off of a mountain image with a broad blue sky. Before moving on to the next element of my collage, I decided to change the mountains’ color to a red print. I wanted to give my collage frequently used aspects of Gucci, precisely the colors red and green. I found two different patterned images, one red and one green, to use as random cutouts on my collage. After placing those on my graphic, I found multiple elements of Gucci to put into my collage. I included a tiger, ghost, butterfly, and bumblebee. All of these different elements have very intentional meanings behind them, symbolizing many different things . After adding various aspects into my collage, I specifically edited the butterflies to be different colors. The original butterflies color was a bright orange color and now are purple, yellow, and green.

Once I finished placing all the different elements that I felt represented Gucci, I made final changes to my collage. I only changed the slightest of things, including adding a shadow to a few of my different elements. After saving my collage and viewing the final product, I am incredibly pleased with my work. I was very stunned by my ability to create something from absolute scratch, but I soon realized that my creative abilities are much higher than I thought. I will continue to make final touches and changes to my collage before I am ready to say that I am completely finished.
